& this Deponant further sayeth that above mentioned Zacheria Eastes informed him that the afores'd Two Negroes was the
property of one Capt'n Darby Lary an officer in Bridg'r Gen'l Cuninghams Brigade of American Militia in the Kings service (that is
to say tory militia) & that the said Lary had put the said Negroes into his care & Possession to save & Secure from the Rebels, in
order to do which he the said Eastes had removed the said negroes together with his Family & property into the neighbourhood
of Fort Cornwallis at Augusta & Then Commanded by L't Col'l Thomas Brown of the Brittish Army & further this Deponant sayeth
